Terms of Engagement and Informed Consent

By booking a consultation with Renata Hines Homeopathy you agree to the terms listed below.

By ticking the box next to Terms and Conditions form during  the booking process  you are agreeing to the Terms of Engagement and Informed Consent below.

This form must be read before our initial consultation can commence.

By booking a consultation you acknowledge and agree with  the statements and information provided below: 

I am a Homeopath LCCH (Lic) MARH, Dental Surgeon (DDS), Holding a specialisation in Stomatology and NOT a conventional medical doctor (GP). Homeopathy, Herbal medicine, and Holistic Counselling are not a substitute for professional medical advice and treatment. Any treatment you receive is not mutually exclusive from any treatment or advice you may now be receiving or may receive in the future from any other licensed health care practitioner. 

What happens in your homeopathic consultation? 

Homeopathic consultations involve a relationship between the client and the homeopath with confidentiality, trust, and respect. Your first homeopathic consultation will take around an hour or up to an hour and a half, any further sessions last around 30-45 minutes.

During the consultation, I need to find out as much as I can about you, including how you feel, your energy, your diet, sleep, routines, exercise, and your general health.

Once you’ve had your consultation, I then work on your case notes, and find a match in the homeopathic materia medica for your symptoms. I then send you a remedy in the post, all included in the fee or if you need a remedy I do not have ins tock, I will send you the link and details on when/how to order it. I work with one remedy per prescription as per Classical Homeopathic philosophy.

Homeopathy and Bio-Ressonanace Machines

A reminder that Homeopathy and/or homeopathic consultations have nothing to do with Bio-Scanning machines, Bio-Ressonance machines,  Bio-Scanning Aerials.
So if you have been to a homeopath in the past who used a bio-ressonance machine, please be advised Renata Hines Homeopathy DOES NOT work with Bio-Ressonanace machines/aerials.  You will not be offered  a Bio-Scan during consultation with Renata Hines Homeopathy.

My commitment to you as my client: 

My aim is to find the best homeopathic remedy to suit you out of the many remedies found in nature, prepared homeopathically. I offer you time, care, and advice to help you on your healing journey. I sometimes offer Homeobotanical blends to my UK clients if I feel they would help, these are charged as an extra service at £20-£30 (depending on the blend) per bottle plus postage of £5.

Your Involvement:

When starting homeopathic treatment, it is important for you to commit to your healing and prioritise your appointments and take note of your changing symptoms after taking a remedy.

Health isn’t static, it is dynamic and changes over time depending on many factors. Getting better is a journey not a quick fix, and we will most likely need to work together over a few months, or longer, to get you to the level of health you are seeking. Generally, the longer you have had symptoms, the longer the treatment will take (but not always – this depends on the individual case). The focus is on gentle, slow, and permanent positive changes to your health. Once you’re happy with your improved health, you can then book appointments if or when you feel you need a remedy. Contact Between Consultations:

This will be discussed at your consultation. I might ask for email updates in-between consultations if needed. The consultation fee covers the consultation time, the time spent evaluating of your case, dispensing prescription, my expertise and an update via email at around 3 weeks after starting the treatment. 

The consultation fee DOES NOT  cover contacting me daily or weekly via emails, messages and phone calls with trivial matters, updates or developments.   If an acute illness arises between one consultation and the next, the patient can, if they wish, book an acute consultation during my working hours using my scheduling link here .

I highly advise that patients write down the changes, developments that take place with them after a remedy prescription and bring that to the next appointment, bearing in mind that a follow-up appointment lasts 55 minutes.

First Aid/Acute Illnesses Prescribing 

We will discuss taking other remedies during your treatment.  First aid consultations can also be booked in between consultations if you have an acute symptom you need help with. First aid/Acute illnesses consultations are only carried out within my working days and hours (Mondays to Thursdays from 9am to 5pm).

I recommend purchasing a good first aid kit of remedies to have at hand in case of acutes.

– Renata Hines refrains from treating an acute illness in anyone, who is travelling/on holiday abroad.

 The Homeopathic Helpline if you wish for first aid homeopathic advice out of clinic hours telephone the Homeopathic Helpline on 09065 343404. 

Lines are open daily from 9am to 12pm. Calls are charged at £1.55 per minute and calls are a maximum of 10 minutes duration. 

Homeopathy is not instead of Accident and Emergency Care: 

If you need emergency health care, please contact your doctor,   call NHS 111 or visit A&E.

Emergency Service: 

I cannot provide an emergency service. If you need emergency care, please contact the emergency services.

 -You confirm that you make an appointment in good faith and that you have the ability to accept or reject this care of your own free will and choice and are mentally competent to enter into this agreement.

-You acknowledge that you are not representing an agency (private, governmental or otherwise) attempting to gather information without so stating [ie. you are not a reporter posing as a patient.]

-You will ensure that any photos or videos you send during video consultations will not show nudity of private parts of the body of adults or children.

-You understand that I am a Homeopath MARH, a Doctor in Dental Surgery (BSc and DDS), holding a MSc in Stomatology and Pharmacology and NOT a conventional medical doctor (GP). Homoeopathy, Dentistry, Herbal medicine, and Holistic Counselling are not a substitute for professional medical advice and treatment. Any treatment you receive is not mutually exclusive from any treatment or advice you may now receive or receive from any other licensed health care practitioner.

-You understand that I am not permitted to diagnose or claim to treat medical conditions.

Confidentiality:

-Your details will not be shared with anyone. I am registered and abide by data protection laws in the UK. The information collected in the intake questionnaire is not shared with anyone. The information is destroyed.

-Your data will not be shared with any third parties without your consent. Any data to be shared will first be sent to you so that you can review and adjust if necessary.

General Information about Your Treatment:

-Homeopathy does not treat named diseases or named diagnosis, but it treats the person with their symptoms. However,  I  still can only  accept diagnosis provided by medical tests (scans, blood tests, urine tests, stool tests etc).

-So, I cannot accept “diagnosis” given by  bio-scanning, aerial machines, shamans, reflexology pressure points  pointing to a supposed problem with a certain organ of the body and etc,  as part of a “diagnosis”.

-The treatment and/or referral to other health care practitioners is based on the assessment of your health, revealed through personal history, examination, laboratory testing, and any other appropriate method of evaluation.

-If I believe that your GP or other health care practitioner needs to be contacted or information should be shared, the contact will be made via you, and I will ask for your consent first.

-All therapeutic advice/ prescriptions will be tailored to support medically diagnosed conditions and/or health concerns agreed and identified.

-Your prescriptions/therapeutic advice programme  plan will have a time frame and you should not continue with recommendations outside of this unless agreed by me. This is to avoid any adverse reactions. If you are unclear about any part of your plan, you should contact me immediately.

-I reserve the right to discontinue my services where it is apparent that your expectations and what I can provide are not in agreement.

-I reserve the right to determine which cases fall outside my scope of practice in which event the appropriate referral will be recommended.

-I reserve the right to refer you to your GP for any tests you may need before I can continue with homeopathic treatment.

-The ultimate responsibility for your health care is your own and that I am here to support you in this. It is essential that you tell me about any medical diagnosis you have received, any prescription medication, herbal medicine or food supplements or over-the-counter medication you are taking.

-You are responsible for contacting your GP or specialist about any health concerns you may have.

-Please advise your GP or specialist of the nutrition, herbal and homoeopathic treatment you will be following. 

-Supplementation may be recommended in your plan but you can choose not to follow it.

Homeopathy alongside Mainstream Healthcare:

– Homeopathy works well alongside mainstream healthcare programs and medications. You will not be asked to come off medications during your treatment.  That is a discussion between you and your Doctor. If you feel you have improved enough to alter your medications then you may be asked to go for additional health checks to ascertain if this is advisable. Again, this is between you and your Doctor. You may be asked to go for additional health checks to see if your medications are still required.

Payment:

Payment can be made by online card payment at the time of booking, or at the end of the consultation by card. If you’re outside of the UK I will send an invoice before your consultation. Please settle your invoice within 24 hours of your consultation.

Cancellations:

Please provide less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation of your consultation.

Cancellations less with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee (50% of appointment fee).

Refund:

Refunds are not issued. 

-As of 25th of May 2018, under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), I am required by law to keep your consultation notes for 7 years and after this date it will be destroyed. This is required by my professional liability insurer and my professional organisations Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH).

Code of Conduct:

I abide by the Code of Ethics set up by Alliance of Registered Homeopaths.

Booking:

I am based in the UK, so I may be working at different times than you expect.

The Consultation:

The Consultation will take place at the time agreed. If you are late at for the consultation, we will still have to finish at the correct time so that I am ready for my next client. You will be charged the full consultation rate.

In-Person Appointments:

Clients can bring their partners, family members or friends in a face-to-face consultation.

However, I want you to know that part of the consultation will also be conducted without the family member present in the consulting room if the client is 16 or over.

Video consultations:

I will send you a link to join the video meeting. If for any reason it does not work we will find another way to communicate. Please check your emails before your consultation is about to begin.

Clients who book an online consultation are required to use a computer or large tablet (not a phone) with a stable, high-speed internet connection.

Clients should be able to concentrate fully on the consultation and not, for example, driving, having the TV on, making phone calls, etc.

Clients must also find a quiet room and have sufficient time for the consultation.

Prescription and Pharmacy:

I will send you a prescription for your remedies after our consultation and within 7 working days. I will also send you a contact of where to purchase them.
You can purchase the remedies from other sources if you have them. For in person patients, the remedy is included in the fees unless it has to be sent from the homeopathic pharmacy in which case you pay them directly.

Emails:

When you book a consultation with me, I will add your email address to my own client list so that I can contact you about your consultations, about news and courses, and about learning more about homeopathy. You can unsubscribe from this list at any time.

The Consultation:

Everything discussed at each consultation is confidential and will not be discussed with anyone else unless I have your specific instruction to discuss your information with other health professionals.

Technology:

I use Zoom, WhatsApp, Facetime, Telegram for video calls.  I use email for communication in between consultations. I will take every precaution reasonable possible to ensure the privacy of your information, but it cannot be guaranteed across these technologies. I have password protected technology.
